3rd PIRA CONVENTION FOCUSES ON INNOVATION

The spotlight is on innovation for the 2013 PIRA Stakeholders’ Convention.

With the theme Innovate or Stagnate, the 3rd PIRA Convention shall bring together top-notch foreign and local speakers to discuss significant breakthroughs and relevant options that could help the non-life insurance industry battle these challenging times. It is scheduled on October 28 at the New World Hotel in Makati City.

“There is only one way to respond when problems arise, and that is to find the right solutions. PIRA decided to focus on innovation because we believe that this could be a very important key—not just to overcome challenges—but also to transition into a stronger industry,” says PIRA Chairman Emmanuel Que.

For the plenary sessions, topics include Innovation on Insurance, Options on Capitalization, Investment Possibilities, Opportunities for New Markets and New Products, New Channels of Distribution and New Ways of Management.

Aside from the plenary sessions, this year’s PIRA Convention shall also offer specialized breakout sessionswherein participants could choose which technical discussions they would like to attend. One breakout would discuss Motor Car, Casualties, and Surety while another breakout would discuss Marine, Fire, and Engineering.

“New regulations and new challenges are imposed upon our industry. This is why we would like to make this convention a platform to share all international and local knowledge that could help us transform these obstacles into opportunities,” says Que.

All representatives of non-life insurance companies, brokers, and adjustors are invited to join the 2013 PIRA Stakeholders Convention. For inquiries on early-bird rates, sponsorship opportunities, or other concerns, you may call the PIRA office at (02) 811-4587.
